Blancpain Villeret Ultra Thin Chronometer reference 7002

$0.00

A truly rare and exceptional neo-vintage gem from the heyday of the historic manufacture. The 7002 stands above the rest of the Villeret line in every regard. The subject of numerous articles and tributes from a more romantic, genuine, and less-commercially driven era of watch journalism due to its many firsts and superlative overall package.

Case: The 36 mm stainless steel case is just 6.8 mm thick and features the distinctive, signature drop shoulder bezel, and is said to be Blancpain’s first (only?) stainless steel case featuring a sapphire caseback. The case is in excellent condition, appearing unpolished with only minor hairline swirls.

Dial: The multi stepped and sunken matte white dial is perfectly clean, featuring the distinctive mirror-polished applied Breguet numerals, highly polished lume-filled hands matching the lume plots at the hour indices. The dial layout is classically perfect absent of a date with the only additional text being the “chronometer” indication below the small second’s register.

Movement: The subject of the legendary Walt Odet’s “The A-B-C’s of Watch Finish” article, the Blancpain caliber 64-1 is superlatively finished Peseux 7001, and said to be the only certified chronometer offered by the mark. Watch was recently fully serviced by Blancpain

Includes: Original signed strap and buckle in excellent condition.
