A. Lange & Sohne Langematik 301.021

This is the original A. Lange & Sohne LANGEMATIK and it just might be a or the perfect Lange. You get the weight presence and Lange watchmaking magic from the larger, thicker, more complicated, and more expensive offerings, in an absolute perfect case size of 37 mm by just 9.7 mm thick, with the beautiful, subtle, timeless and super clean aesthetic of the Saxonia line.

It’s the automatic winding micro-rotor with uber-cool zero-reset mechanism movement that everyone wishes was in the current lineup that is the star of the show. With a more visually interesting movement showcasing more finishing techniques and materials than the time only Saxonia or 1815 offerings, the Langematik might just be the goldilocks of the Lange back catalog.  No longer in production and offered here with service box, manual, and card.

Reference: Saxonia Langematik 301.021

Case: The 37 x 44.8 x 8.2 mm solid yellow gold case is in good, honest, pre-owned condition. The case is thick, sharp, and retains its original factory finishes, exhibiting normal, honest wear throughout.

Dial: The matte white dial is very clean and beautifully encapsulates the Saxonia line. I particularly love the small details like the blued seconds hand and the front chosen for the applied “12”.

Movement: The Automatic “Sax-O-Mat” caliber L921.2 is the star of the show with a zero-reset mechanism and not-so-micro 21 Karat gold micro-rotor with platinum mass to increase winding efficiency.  It’s the gorgeous, thin and technically impressive automatic movement everyone wishes the new and current lineup had and can now only be found in the Langematik Perpetual Calendar. The zero-reset mechanism is so incredibly cool and makes hacking seconds look elementary.

The watch is winding, setting, changing date, and running smoothly at approximately +0.33 s/d, averaged across 6 positions.

Strap: Presented on its original signed brown alligator strap with matching gold buckle. The strap is in good condition and measures 115 x 75 mm.

Includes: Service box set, manual booklet, and undated guarantee card.
