Breguet Classique Perpetual Calendar Ref 3050

Introduced in 1976, the reference 3050 perpetual calendar remains historically important to the brand, Daniel Roth and mechanical watches in general, bringing high complication and craftsmanship to the market to defend and differentiate from the proliferation of quartz timekeeping. Personally, I think it perfectly encapsulates what makes this era of Breguet so fantastic: an absolutely timeless design and dial layout derived from an early pocket watch with a beautiful guilloche dial that is classic, legible, and perfectly balanced.  At just 8mm thin, it also remains underrated within the rare company of perpetual calendars of the era from the likes of Patek, Vacheron, and AP.

Case: The 36 x 42 x 8 mm 18-Carat yellow gold case features the early “rounded lugs” in very honest, full condition throughout.  The case exhibits light wear commensurate with age with well defined hallmarks.

Dial: The galvanized silvered gold dial is hand engraved with the Clous de Paris guilloche pattern interrupted by the brushed silver hours, minutes, and sub-register tracks.  

Movement: The caliber 505QP3 automatic winding movement is functioning properly and smoothly running at approximately +3 s/d, averaged across 6 positions.  

Strap: The watch is presented on a saffiano textured leather strap in blue, complementing the heat blued hands and paired with the original signed pin buckle.
