An early, rare, and absolutely stunning Roger Dubuis Hommage Bi-Retrograde Chronograph Reference H40 560 series in white gold with original presentation box. This watch is achingly beautiful from every angle, and particularly interesting at off angles, highlighting a seemingly endless list of intricate and fascinating details such as the polished concave bezel, anti-slide “tasti-tondi” style pushers, unique hollowed and heat blued sub register hands, highlighting the stylized red Arabic numerals, and the richness and depth of the lacquered white dial. The party continues on the movement side with a beautifully finished manually wound and Geneva Seal caliber RD5630 movement, based on the infamous Lemania 2310 caliber complete with Geneva striping, anglage, black polishing, a capped column wheel, and swan’s neck regulator. Far more interesting and detailed than anything from Patek or the like, presenting a tremendous value and serious collection capstone.

Case: The 40 x 47 x 14 mm solid white gold case is in excellent overall condition, and appears to be unpolished.

Dial: The white lacquered dial has a glassy milky richness and depth to it, appearing to be enamel, highlighting the layers and thickness of the printed scales and numerals. The dial and hands are free from defects as pictured.

Movement: The RD5630 caliber is a heavily modified Lemania 2310 base that features a Geneva Seal on the balance cock as well as on the movement base plate under the balance wheel. The finishing is intricate and classic and the watch is winding, setting, and running well, with crisp calendar changes at midnight. The watch is running at approximately +/- 0 s/d, averaged across 6 positions.

Strap: The watch is presented on a black alligator strap with calfskin lining in good shape measuring 75 x 120 mm and including the original signed white gold buckle in very good condition.

Includes: Presented with one of the coolest wooden boxes I’ve seen with multiple grain patterns throughout and a rich leather presentation inside depicting and describing the importance of the Geneva Seal. Accompanied by the original leather hang tag. No additional booklets or papers are present.
