Vacheron Constantin 6594 Blue Dial

There is rare, and there is 'find me another', this is the later. The Vacheron Constantin Reference 6594 is a beautiful, classic, timeless Calatrava style watch on its own, particularly coveted in the scarce white metals. The beautiful ocean-blue sunburst dial on this offering makes it just one of an estimated three Reference 6594’s with blue dials known!

Beyond the dial, the watch had all the advanced construction of the time with a screw down caseback, and K1071 automatic winding movement. The Caliber K1071 is largely regarded as one of the finest automatic calibers produced, specifically developed to compete with Patek’s Caliber 12-600AT. The movement bears the Geneva Seal in two locations, features an 18-Karat, guilloche-finished weighted winding rotor, mirror polished Swan’s neck regulator, Gyromax balance, and a distinct rotor bearing system featuring four small ruby roller bearings to increase efficiency and longevity.

Truly a masterpiece inside and out mated to true rarity, making this a true sleeping giant.

Case: The 35 x 44.5 x 11.2 solid white gold case is in very clean, very nice overall condition, preserving all of the original case finishing. The case appears to have been lightly polished in the past, but retains the hallmark at 4 and original vertical brushing on the exterior of the lugs and horizontal brushing on the mid case.

Dial: The soleil blue dial is achingly gorgeous; deeply saturated, richly textured and free of defects. The polished and faceted indices and hands provide brilliance and movement on the dial and the stoic vintage signature is perfectly emblematic of the brand.

Movement: The K1071 automatic winding movement is the stuff of legends. It houses all of the innovations and designs possible to make it one of the finest automatic movements of the time, that is still highly regarded today.  The watch is winding, setting, and running well at approximately -24 s/d, averaged across 6positions.

Strap: The watch comes on a period correct alligator strap paired with its signed white gold Maltese Cross pin buckle.
