The reference 15300ST.OO.1220ST.03 Royal Oak is in many respects a modern amalgamation of the great Royal Oak features and design cues of the past: Large, subtly lume filled AP logo at 12, date and central seconds, 39 mm case size, and the well-respected caliber 3120 automatic winding movement with 22 Carat gold rotor. My favorite aspect is that even though I’m thoroughly in the vintage Royal Oak camp, this still feels every bit a Royal Oak, and if anything, that feel is upgraded in many respects with a more robust and refined bracelet, more confidently engaging screw down crown, and overall feeling of solidness.

The tiny details that can really only be appreciated up close, in the metal, are not lost either. The Tapisserie dial is finely finished and detailed and you can see the engine turning on top of the pyramids, the white gold hands and applied markers shimmer and elevate the watch, and the quintessential beveling and finishing is ever present, as it should be. In today’s landscape, the 15300 offers a relative bargain to modern offerings while retaining the purity of what makes the RO so great in the first place.

Case: The 39 x 49.5 x 9 mm stainless steel case is in very good condition with sharp edges, facets, bevels, polishing, etc. The watch is free from any notable defects and flaws, and exhibits minor surface swirls throughout. The integrated bracelet featuring hidden butterfly clasp is in very good condition and should fit up to an approximate 7-1/8” wrist.

Dial: The black Tapisserie dial and hands were recently replaced by AP’s authorized service center in Ottawa Canada. The minute hand exhibited cracks in the lume upon arrival to me, and the hands and dial were then replaced with original parts straight from the manufacturer. As such, they are exceptionally clean, free of defects, and as new.

Movement: The caliber 3120 automatic winding movement was fully serviced by AP’s authorized service center in Ottawa, Canada in June 2025 and is winding, setting, and running smoothly at approximately +9 s/d, averaged across 6 positions.

This watch is in excellent condition and presents very nicely in the metal, ready for a lifetime of enjoyment and appreciation.
