The Breguet Classique Day Date Moonphase Reference 3330BA was the first watch I sold as an official “dealer”, and I’ve missed that watch ever since. The watch is a masterclass in design inside and out with the distinct, hand crafted Classique case in an excellent 35.9 mm size, and one of my all-time favorite displays of the day, date, moonphase, and of course, time. The dial is a masterclass in layout, proportions, symmetry, textures, and negative space, cleanly and legibly displaying the complication in an achingly beautiful fashion.

This example is made particularly special in that it’s a 3337BA, meaning it’s the lesser seen display back variant showcasing an achingly gorgeous and intricately detailed automatic winding Frederic Piguet automatic movement. It is also an early example with a cabachon crown, “small SWISS” signature, and “A” serial.

Case: The 35.9 x 43 x 7 mm solid yellow gold case is in very good condition throughout. It appears to be potentially unpolished with very crisp case. All of the geometry is prominent and even, and the hallmarks and crisp and legible. Light surface scratches are present as photographed, though it is free of any major imperfections.

Dial: The hand finished white guilloche dial is free of any defects, blemishes, or dirt, and beautifully showcases the dial guilloche pattern, along with the track on the inside and outside of the hour and minutes tracks, and the subtle ripples of the “clouds” below the moonphase aperture. I particularly love the buttery color of the day and date windows adding that vintage warmth and character.

Movement: The caliber 502 is a Frederic Piguet caliber 71 base automatic movement is winding, setting, running, and functioning correctly and well at approximately -9 s/d, averaged across 6 positions. The watch was just independently serviced and ready to go.

Strap: The watch is presented on a vintage black alligator strap with original yellow gold pin buckle.
