Breguet Tradition 7027 Unpolished White Gold
Breguet Tradition 7027 Unpolished White Gold
If “whimsy” is the word I use most to describe Breguet, the Tradition is certainly the standard bearer, with its “reversed movement” showcasing the mechanics and physical movement and energy of the balance wheel and escapement beautifully and symmetrically arranged based on original A.L. Breguet pocket watch design. It embodies the notion of taking a watch off and showing someone new to watches an exhibition caseback to appreciate the mechanics, and delights the wearer with every glance. It’s truly difficult to imagine a more classic, classically important, dynamic, and distinctly “Breguet” thing, and that’s why I love the Tradition so much.

Case: The 37.5 × 45 × 12 mm solid white gold case showcases the Maison’s signature design language with hand finished coin edge mid case and welded lugs. It appears to be unpolished with razor sharp, distinctly defined lugs and crisp hallmarks. Surface swirls are present throughout, exaggerated in the macro photos. The watch presents extremely clean and sharp on wrist.
Dial: The dial or dial side, is free of defects, showcasing a myriad of movement finishing and traditional watchmaking techniques. This is one I maintain really needs to be seen in video or in the metal, as it’s the physical movement and seeing everything in motion that makes it so special to wear and appreciate.
Movement: The 507DR manually wound movement boasts a 50-hour power reserve, indicated on both the front and back of the watch. The watch is winding, setting, and operating properly at approximately +6 s/d, averaged across 6 positions. Seeing the movement in motion is truly mesmerizing and the back side puts the winding train on full display.
Includes: The watch is presented on an aftermarket taupe strap measuring 125 × 75 and includes its original white gold pin buckle, in excellent condition.
