The Cartier Roadster reference 2524 might just be the goldilocks of neo-vintage Cartier.  A unique, distinctively shaped case, that wears extremely well, Cartier signature styling and finishing, including guilloche in the center of the dial, and a slightly more sporty, robust, and modern overall appearance and feeling on wrist.

Case: The 37.5 x 44 x 9.2 mm solid yellow gold case is in very nice overall condition with thick even proportions throughout and crisp finishing.  The roadster name is so fitting as the curved nature of the case evokes the spirit of a low slung heavily shaped and curved classic driver, a Porsche 356 Speedster comes to mind.  The case exhibits minor surface swirls throughout as well as scratches on the caseback, where all engravings and hallmarks and crisply intact, suggesting it may be unpolished. 

Dial: The dial is gorgeous and fascinating with a slightly metallic radial striping around the hour track, the always good hand guilloche center section, and distinctly sport and very legible heat blued and luminous filled hands.  The heavily shaped date cyclops is so fun and seamlessly integrates with the uniquely shaped crown.  The dial features the secret signature at 7 and is free from any imperfections.  Light surface scratches are present on the crystal near 1 o’clock and are only visible at certain angles. 

Movement: The caliber 3110 automatic winding, quickset date, and hacking seconds movement is running very well at approximately +3 s/d, averaged across 6 positions.

Strap: The watch is presented with two shaped quick-change Cartier signed alligator straps and the original solid gold deployant.  The strap system is extremely convenient, featuring tool free quick removal and installation.  The long strap will fit up to a 7.75” wrist while the shorter length strap will fit up to an approximate 6.75” wrist.  The solid gold deployant is in very nice condition with excellent unpolished hallmarks.
